Breakfront Bookcase

A substantial early 19th century mahogany breakfront library bookcase designed in the ” Greek style “. Raised on a strong moulded plinth below a cupboard base with glazed doors above. Strung with ebony inlay throughout and constructed with an unusual sliding door mechanism. The cabinet retains a wonderful surface patination and all the adjustable shelving fitments are original.

The design has similarities with the works of George Smith.
