A painted faux rosewood early 19th century two door side cabinet raised on gilt paw feet. Decorated with carved wood and gilt mouldings and paterae. The silk panelled doors with chicken wire frontage.
The use of paint to imitate wood was common practise in the Regency period. This particular piece is great example of high quality faux rosewood decoration.
